" The world is full of magical things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper" - w.b. yeats
Like many of us, I am endlessly enthralled by the astounding beauty of the flora and fauna found in nature. I take this as creative inspiration, attempting to recreate some semblance of this beauty while occasionally exercising some artistic licence.

Creating sugar flowers is labour intensive, time consuming and a delicate process. Which is why I find the quote above by W.B. Yeats so appropriate, because making sugar flowers truly requires patience but in the end, you can end up with something that is quite magical. Each petal is painstakingly crafted by hand - rolled, cut, shaped, frilled, pulled, stretched, veined, dried, colour dusted, tinted, steamed, glazed and finally assembled and taped into into a flower, plant or floral bouquet.
