Cakes and baking have been a part of my life since childhood. During my university days in London, I should have known that something was up when I spent a large portion of my time watching cooking shows, writing recipes & experimenting with all things edible, instead of slogging away in the school library. (I had to do some of that too, eventually!) I spent the next 20 years in the finance world, spending much of it with a quasi-government agency until personal losses prompted me to take some time out to re-evaluate my life.
During that time, I reverted to doing the one thing that I've always turned to when I don't know what to do - baking & caking. In turn, I found myself turning a hobby into a career & setting up a cake business.
In the short few years since starting this journey, Haute Cakes has achieved many milestones - creating signature & unique cakes for blissful weddings or happy celebrations, supplying floral sugar art to 6-star hotels in Singapore, completing my studies in plant-based patisserie with the Cordon Bleu London. Last but not least, I have also managed to "fit in" giving birth to a pair of twins!
My passion for perfection and pleasing my clients means that I am never satisfied unless every cake I deliver is produced at the highest standards and attention to detail, all the way from baking only with the best time-tested recipes, using the finest ingredients including French butter, Madagascan vanilla, Maldon sea salt, Valrhona and Callebaut chocolate and freshest seasonal produce, to planning, executing & delivering the best possible cake for every client.
To me, cakes mean happiness and nothing makes me happier than sharing happiness in the form of a beautiful cake with friends, family and loved ones. Creating cakes for my clients has given me the chance to be a part of their experiences & stories, and I hope that I can be a part of yours too.
